Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9TV dated November 12th, 2015
ADNAN OKTAR: The time of our Prophet (saas) was full of hardships. There were no police, no prosecutors, no judges; it was a dangerous, risky environment. Moreover, majority of the people were utterly ignorant. I hold the companions of the Prophet (saas) above this expression; but the pagans were indeed strange people. Their skepticism knew no bounds. However, our Prophet's (saas) face would always reflect his perfectly honest personality. He was never in a position to deceive and manipulate people. And why would he feel the need to do so? It is quite dangerous. They knew that he was of sound mind; they would call him "Muhammad the Trustworthy" as he had lived among them for many years, right? He had made a name for himself through his honesty, wisdom, intelligence and politeness. Does this sound rational? And the pagans were saying that someone had written the verses and brought to him. Why would he knowingly go through all that trouble? What kind of prophethood would that be? God watched over and protected him throughout his life; this is a great miracle. Actually, it is essential to analyze the life of our Prophet (saas) as a whole. In other words, his whole life was full of miracles. The companions witnessed all the miracles individually. However, it is not possible for us to learn about all the miracles in the Quran. Therefore, we should refer to the history of Islam to gain information on these events. They distorted the facts through lies and fabrication. I do not understand these people. What is the point of all these additions? What is the point of altering the religion to such extent? What is your purpose, how will this benefit you? Why do you torment the Muslims imposing prohibitions upon prohibitions? They were casting unfounded aspersions. I would understand their skepticism if anything that might give rise to suspicions had occurred; but they have no such evidence. They are outright making it up.
GÖKALP BARLAN: Almighty God informs in a verse of the Quran that they specifically do so to deceive people into deviating from the way of God, just as you have said, insha'Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR: Religion is full of such hidden miraculous aspects. We should not only put emphasis on the miracles of the Quran. We should also take a look at the miracles of our Prophet's (saas) life. Because, some of these miracles are impossible to be contradicted. For example, the Battles of Badr and Uhud resulted in the martyrdom of many people. But sometimes, they include false information while narrating these events. It is possible to omit these lies and tell it precisely.
Additionally, having bad moral values is spiritually and physically devastating for the individual. On the contrary, having good moral values results in wellbeing, happiness and order; both for the individual and the society. This aspect might be strongly emphasized. In other words, the religion itself is a miracle. Practicing religion amazingly gives rise to prosperity, welfare, and a better physical health, as well. When religion is not practiced, both the body and the society collapse. This is a true and well-known fact. We can give examples from history.
"When our Prophet (saas) struck a rock with a pick, it would send out sparks." Yes it would. That cannot be considered a miracle. It is known that hitting a rock with a metallic object will emit sparks, no matter who does it. When a hard rock is struck with an iron object, it emits sparks due to frictional heating. Therefore, calling it a miracle would be far-fetched.
But our Prophet (saas) had what they call 'clairvoyance,' as he was shown locations and places which couldn’t normally be seen. But he might have been half-asleep half-awake. People might often go into a half-awake, half-asleep state while sitting and seem lost in thought. Even though they are awake, they would be startled and realize that they have been in sort of a sleeping state. During this period the individual might see clear visions, and then see themselves waking up.
