Dr. Jeff Zweerink: Science and Religion Are Compatible - Astrophysicist

Generally, what that's asserting is that science can explain everything so we don't need religion; and what I would say is as Christianity at least perceives or describes how God interacts with creation, that the fact that we can describe creation using the laws of physics is very much a Biblical idea. Just because we have an explanation according to the laws of physics doesn't mean God is not involved. But there are also these places where it looks like God operates beyond the laws of physics and so I think the idea that science and religion are incompatible, I don't think that’s a tenable idea; in fact, I think our best scientific understanding, in fact the Big Bang cosmology, points to there being a cause to the universe outside of the universe and I think that is very consistent with religion, particularly Christianity.
