Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9TV dated June 8th, 2016
ADNAN OKTAR: Samiri and his gang knew they were going to leave Egypt. They heard the news. They planned a large-scale robbery in Egypt. They stole gold from here and there. When they were carrying the gold, the Prophet Aaron (pbuh) saw them and became suspicious of them due to the high amount of gold they had. He knew that had he returned to Egypt, they would have perished, been martyred. Aaron (pbuh) had a hole dug up there, and had all the gold he suspected to be stolen thrown into the hole and had the hole filled again. His aim was to return the stolen gold, he was going to say to the people "there are stolen gold there, take them." Then they walked off into the desert. Then this traitor went back to where the gold is buried with his hypocrite friends and dug up the hole again. He took the gold and returned to the Prophet Aaron’s (pbuh) side while he hid the gold. When he was asked, he said that those were his. He said, "I saved them a long time ago." He said they belonged to him. Look at the trick the hypocrite plays. He says they belong to him. How can they be yours? You are a destitute man. How is that they belong to you? It is obvious that, that much gold is not yours. Other thieves and people around him said the same thing; that the gold belonged to them. But they hid the gold. After that, as you know when the Prophet Moses (pbuh) went off to the mountain, the Prophet Aaron (pbuh) stayed there as the ruler. But rascal Samiri is very unprincipled, worthless. He was a craftsman, an idol maker. Samiri was both a smelter and a sculptor he sculpted the golden calf in Egypt; but not only that he was talented in every way, he had an evil talent. He would earn his living by selling the golden calf idols he sculpted. He built a furnace there, from that stolen gold. He smelted the gold by tons, not a meager amount. He made a giant golden calf statue. But of course, he first prepared the mold. For example, there are loam molds, as you know. This is very hard to do. It is obvious from that he was a master sculptor. He pours the smelt and removes the mold to create the calf. One of the aspects of the calf is that it is also designed in a similar manner to a musical instrument. When the wind blows, as it was placed on a high ground, it makes a bellowing sound. For example, this is one of his evil talents. It makes a bellowing sound. And when the Jews who come from Egypt see the golden calve statue, they admire it because it reminds them of their old culture. They lined up in front of the golden calf because they wanted to return to their old culture. Samiri said, he was very sly, he said, “Moses grew up with this religion too.” Indeed, he grew up with that belief when he was a child. He did not believe in it, that is another matter but he grew up with it. Samiri said, "He forgot his old religion. Normally, this is his religion." He was doing that to calm the people's reactions. He wanted to make it seem reasonable. Can you see the evil ways of the hypocrites? Look how many plans he hatched. He planned to make and put that statue there before he even came there. He was sure that they were going to come. But his actual intention was to replace the Prophet Moses (pbuh). This was Samiri’s real concern. As the spy of that idol worshiping, deep state religion, either he was planning to do something to assassinate Prophet Moses (pbuh) or he was planning to bring Pharaoh's men to martyr the Prophet Moses (pbuh) in some way. So that he can replace him. That was the reason why he was planning and working so extensively. Because he had the ambition for leadership and superiority. He thought that he was much cleverer than the Prophet Moses (pbuh) was. He believed he was superior to him in every way and that he should be the leader. He said that he followed the messenger but removed some of what he brought. That he made small changes in the religion of the messenger; he altered the commandments of the Torah. “I brought the pagan religion, we will eat gherkin, garlic.” He was missing the food culture of Egypt too. He was trying to lead them to that culture. He was talking about a modern life but an ignorant modernity, pagan modernism; he was aiming for the modernism of that era. Being martyred was not in the fate of the Prophet Moses (pbuh). Even though he planned multiple schemes and laid many traps, he could not harm the Prophet Moses (pbuh) in anyway. But he martyred his wife. You know the wife of the Pharaoh; she emigrated after Prophet Moses (pbuh), masha’Allah. She did it alone, such bravery. She attempted to cross the desert alone but Pharaoh's mounted soldiers caught her and martyred her on the spot. Right now, she resides in the land of martyrs, the same place our brave soldiers go. They met each other there.
Gold was a very precious mineral in the Pharaoh's era. Jews and their tribe developed an immense admiration in their subconscious for gold in that era. God puts the admiration for gold in people’s subconscious because there is gold in heaven. Samiri was exploiting this admiration. But he devised a cunning robbery plan; first, he stole the gold from various places, then split it up among his gang, and then claimed that the gold belonged to him. Finally, upon seeing such a large amount of gold, the Prophet Aaron (pbuh) becomes suspicious of it. They still claim that it is their gold, but just the same, Aaron (pbuh) gathers the gold and hides it in a hole in order to find out the truth. But they take the gold yet again. They dig the hole and take the gold. And build the statue. Just look at the hypocrites' ambition, their ambition for leadership and ingratiating themselves with the deep state. Samiri was working for Egyptian deep state, he got accustomed to stealing, extortion, lying and committing treacherous deeds; he was a shameless, dishonorable person. He was always playing tricks and scheming. And when Samiri saw Prophet Moses (pbuh), he tried to arouse pity for himself. The Prophet Moses (pbuh) said, "From now on you will say 'don't touch me please.' Watch what I will do to your statue." Prophet Moses (pbuh) possessed a marvelous knowledgeable. What was that knowledge?
BULENT SEZGIN: Manna.
ADNAN OKTAR: The knowledge of manna, the most favorable manna is the one made of gold. He turned the gold that weighted in tons into white powder. White powder that dissolves in water. It is an inexplicable deed. He threw some of this powder into the sea. After he threw it, fishes and birds began to rush towards the manna. Droves of quills. This is of course God's mystery, a miracle. It is inexplicable. He also gave some of the manna to the people to eat, to his followers. They became extraordinarily healthy. He himself was martyred at the age of 120, as you know. Everybody who ate it became as healthy. But he told Samiri to move away, “You have no right to this manna.” He sent them to the desert alone. And for the rest of his life, Samiri lived alone. Who knows where he died. But look how meticulous the hypocrite is, how he plans everything right from the start. He decides to blend into the community. Even at the very beginning, he had a connection with the deep state. He was working for them when he first came there. And he planned a long and extensive scheme to replace Prophet Moses (pbuh). Thievery, fraud, treachery, dishonesty, every kind of terrible deed is in hypocrite's nature. They are talented actors; they can assume any expression at will like an actor in a play. They can assume a sad or a thoughtful expression. They can assume a scared, happy, or innocent expression. They can act as if they are religious. They are like a chameleon in that they can assume every shape. For this reason, the term ‘hypocrite’ given to them perfectly fits their nature. I mean, mole. A hypocrite is a mole that infiltrates the Muslims. The etymological root of the word hypocrite comes from the word mole. Like a hole with two exists, he enters one and exits from the other. Hypocrites are sly like moles and they live in the dark. Their soul is dark as well. Their souls are blind. It is rather meaningful that they are likened to moles. The word hypocrite, as Almighty God addresses them, comes from the word mole.
Samiri's family and his circle are also adept at shaping, smelting gold and at every kind of artistic activity involving those subjects. His gang is the same. In that era, Israelites usually made their living through farming and animal husbandry, for that reason, the fact that Samiri was making a golden calf statue astounds them. Moreover, he puts the statue on a hill where it shimmers in the sun. Then people behold the statue in admiration, astonished by his talent.
For example, in Nehemiah 16-17, "But they, our ancestors, became arrogant and stiff-necked, and they did not obey your commands. They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them." This refers to Samiri. The leader they appointed for themselves is Samiri. "But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them."
Samiri says, “This is his true Lord but he forgot." They say, "He went to the mountain to talk with his God" and he responds, "No, his God is here." He says, "This is his God." He was evil like that. For that reason, subject of hypocrites is very vital. They are one of the most important factors that greatly increase the merits of Muslims, and they caused Prophet Moses (pbuh) to reach the rank of an Ulu'l Azm prophet [those who possess a great responsibility] in the ranks of prophethood. Without hypocrites, it is very hard for Muslims to rise in rank and merit. They render the believers' minds clearer and increase their enthusiasm. With hypocrites' presence, Islam and believers receive blessings. But bad luck, disaster and trouble befall on hypocrites, their soul darkens, their heart burns, their place is hell. Hypocrites create an opposite effect on believers. At first, hypocrites look harmful, but they bring great benefits to Islam and to the Quran. Because Muslims' enthusiasm and excitement increases, they become more cautious, ambitious, wealthy and great blessings come upon them. For example, look, manna was granted to the Prophet Moses (pbuh) because of them. With manna, they get to live longer and have much more healthy lives, when they drink it they never get sick. If Samiri did not do that, there would not be manna. There would be no manna created out of gold, do you see? Their faith becomes stronger, much stronger.
