Hypocrites long for a life that is devoid of respect, in which they can exercise snobbery and cause trouble to their hearts' content

Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9TV dated April 14th, 2016

ADNAN OKTAR: We discuss the characteristics of the hypocrites on an individual basis. If you try to get all the signs of hypocrisy across in a single day, it will become overwhelming. So we divide them at least into three or four categories, with the help of what I have told you before. Listen to what I have told you again. When you try to address them in your own way it becomes confusing. It might be good for you to go through what I have told you. You may watch the tapes of our conversations about the hypocrites again, and the excerpts of the conversations as well. I think that it will be to your benefit to understand the reasoning behind these conversations well. Of course, you can expand upon them.

Hypocrites have a foul conception of freedom. What they seek for is that there will be no religion, no religious leader, no worship, and they will communicate with the irreligious and do snobbery to their hearts' content. They will not abide by imam; they will not show obedience or respect. Hypocrites despise these. They desire a villainous, lumpen, snobbish way of life, in which they can sneak, steal, cause trouble and then run from justice, and when they are arrested and put in prison, break out from there too. They like making insinuations, vileness and pettiness, gossiping, and tale-bearing. They relish such evil deeds. However, in some occasions, a person with hypocritical tendencies might mend his ways; hypocrisy does not get a hold on him. It’s good for those who mend their hypocritical ways. But those who do not will perish. At no point in history have hypocrites acknowledged anyone as their imam; neither the Prophet Moses (pbuh) nor Our Prophet (pbuh), nor any other prophets. Of course, no prophets exist right now; I am referring to the era of the prophets. They did not acknowledge the Prophet Abraham (pbuh) or the Prophet Noah (pbuh) either as their imam. Hypocrites did not give heed to the prophets' guidance and always treated them with snobbery and arrogance. Hypocrites always emerge from among educated people, people who read and study, in other words, people who possess an evil intelligence. In the Surah al-Muddaththir, Almighty God tells us about a hypocrite that is asked by other hypocrites to examine the Quran. They tell him "Read the Quran and see if it really is sent by God. If so, we will abide by it, but if not..." So, he studies the Quran at length. When he is done studying, he frowns his face, glowers, and tells the hypocrites, "This book is a fabrication, it is man-written" (the Quran is above such thoughts), even though he has realized that it is not so. He notices the mathematical coding in the Quran based on the number '19', in other words, he realizes the miracle in the Quran, yet he succumbs to his vileness and egotism and says the reverse. As people hold him in high regard as a great scholar, and not wanting to lose face, he does not recognize the fact that the Quran was, indeed, sent by God. So, what does he need to do to maintain his prestige? He denies so that he can be more prestigious than both the Quran and the Prophet (pbuh) (the Quran and the Prophet (pbuh) is above such thoughts). So he says the Quran is an earthly, fictitious book (the Quran is above such thoughts). God says in the Quran that He will have 19 angels drag the hypocrite to hell, because he believes himself to be at great liberty here in this world. Those who regard him as a great scholar will see what will become of him in hell and realize their mistake but it will then be too late.

In some occasions, those with obvious hypocritical tendencies might mend their ways. God refers to this in the Quran saying, "The earth became narrow for them [two people)". They felt so heavy-hearted because of their mistake, so they turned to Islam once again. Sometimes, hypocrites believe the irreligious to be exceptionally powerful. So, when they realize they overestimated the irreligious, and that the irreligious are not as strong as they believed to be, they abandon their hypocritical ways; they shed themselves of their hypocrisy. But in some cases, they keep up with their hypocritical ways on the sly. Their hypocrisy diminishes but not completely fades away. Our Prophet (pbuh) says that in the End Times, until the coming of Mahdi (as), Islam will wear thin but will not be completely eliminated. But during the time of Hz Mahdi (as), it will be the opposite and Islam will grow stronger and the irreligious will become weaker to the point of being perished. But like a thin membrane that grows to become bigger and thicker, the irreligious will grow from their seeds, from their remnants once again to take over the world after the death of Mahdi (as) and Jesus Messiah (pbuh).
